Un tuffo nelle acque termali con la Vernaccia di San Gimignano

La Vernaccia di San Gimignano sarà protagonista nell'appuntamento di Chianciano Terme, presso le nuove piscine termali Theia, "Il bagno degli Etruschi", nome che evoca le radici storiche del luogo, intitolato dagli Etruschi a Sillene, e che verranno inaugurate per l'occasione.
Primo vino in Italia ad ottenere la doc nel 1966, divenuta docg nel 1993, tra i più antichi d'Italia tanto che se ne hanno tracce a partire dal 1.200, prodotto dall'omonimo vitigno autoctono coltivato esclusivamente sul territorio di San Gimignano, la Vernaccia di San Gimignano rappresenta il cuore bianco della vitivinicoltura toscana e la sua storia e fortuna sono intrecciate in modo indissolubile con quelle della Toscana.
Oggi la Vernaccia di San Gimignano è ben diversa da quella esaltata da Dante Alighieri nella Divina Commedia, le più moderne tecniche agronomiche e di cantina si sono inserite sulla tradizione permettendo la produzione di vini di sempre maggiore qualità.
Per il Brindisi Arcobaleno al tavolo del Consorzio di San Gimignano si potranno degustare le Vernacce delle due tipologie, annata e Riserva, scoprirne le qualità organolettiche e la loro evoluzione nel tempo.....la Vernaccia di San Gimignano è infatti un vino bianco con una forte propensione all'invecchiamento: fresco e fruttato da giovane nella versione di annata, acquista sapidità e mineralità con qualche anno di affinamento nella tipologia Riserva.
